Production Blog - Finalization - 16 3/4

Image
It is about time to release 16 3/4! Before release, however, there needs to be a few more things to get done before the film gets released. The first thing I have done is show a pre-release film of 16 3/4 to select friends. The reactions have been positive so far! Not too many specifics on what others have said, but they said that the film was good overall. After that, I reviewed the current film to see if there was any part of an era of my life taking up a large part of space in the film. There ended up being some portions of the film that prioritized a specific era of my life than other eras. I had examined to see if there was any images that seemed repetitive or unneccessary, and some images had to be swapped with new ones due to this reason. I had found additional media to put on the film. Originally, the film was supposed to be 47 seconds long. To be able to add in the additional media, however, the film was extended to 56 seconds. This did not cause any issue to the current goal

16 3/4 - Reflection

The finalized version of 16 3/4 has finally been posted! It has been great producing this video since the start of it all. The concept behind 16 3/4 is very interesting. A simple slideshow that goes through the past years of my life in 56 seconds. Throughout production, I have used a single video editing software to produce everything. That editing software is Adobe Premiere Pro, a robust video editing software designed for post-production of many types of content involving video. Premiere Pro, of course, makes producing a simple slideshow simple. The slideshow was able to be sequentially put together simply by dragging media from a bin into the timeline and sandwiching it together with other media in order. The method used to resize each piece of media in the video was to go into Effect Controls, and modify the scale to the appropriate value. Adobe Premiere Pro has also enabled me to utilize keyframe animation in a short portion in my video. The 16 3/4 logo incorporates a keyframe ani

Production Blog - Genesis - All About Me Commercial

After handpicking several photos and videos to put on my All About Me commercial, it is finally time to edit and brand it! Although a very simple project, the editing software I will be using for this video will be Adobe Premiere Pro. All project files, including the photos and videos, are stored in a single folder on my home computer. Premiere Pro definitely enabled me to make a slideshow of my previous years of my life. I was also able to add a very simple animation at the end of the video, which I will explain in a little bit. Now, it's time to decide on the video's aesthetics and branding. If this is going to be a sort of video that looks over the past years of my life in commercial form , there has to be some sort of brand. The actual video is already in a slideshow that goes over my previous years of my life. All of the photos and media are shown for about 0.5 seconds. The music going along with this video is also calm, yet reflective. At the same time, the goal is to kee

Production Blog - Handpicking - All About Me Commercial

Image
The time has come to start handpicking content for my All About Me commercial! After hours of looking through numerous amounts of photos and videos spanning all the way back to 2007, I have several photos and videos to use on my All About Me commercial, and I will showcase a couple of the images that will be used in the video. I will first start with the earliest image that will be shown. The very first image that will be displayed in the video is a photo of myself three days after the day I was born. This photo was was taken on January 16, 2007. Look at how small I was when I was only 3 days old! Moving forward a decade and a half later is an image taken on the day of my 15th birthday, January 13, 2022. Shown here is a photo of a large donut presented during my virtual birthday party during that time. This donut sure is large! From here, there is a plethora of other pieces of content that span from way back then to now. As stated previously, it took several hours trying to find some g

Production Blog - The Refreshed Plan - All About Me Commercial

Today, I will be revisiting the plans from my Research + Planning blog. I had previously mentioned that the format of the video would consist of me speaking into the camera, while showing relavent photos and videos of myself over time. However, this idea does not sound like it would work out well for the commercial. I have determined that this specific format will ultimately make the video longer than what a commercial would usually last. I see that the entire point is to showcase all about myself and my entire life so far in a short period of time. What's the new plan? The new plan is to instead make a short and simple simple video slideshow. To preserve time, I will be eliminating any narration altogether. I am planning to follow a chronological order, where I will pick out a few photos and videos from a year, or a range of select years, and then feature them on the video from oldest to newest. My goal is to essentially showcase the highlights of my life in a short period of time

Research + Planning - All About Me Commercial

Today is the start of preparing my All About Me commercial. This commercial is essentially going to be a semi-immersive summary of my life. I am thinking that this video will likely follow a filming style where I will show myself speaking, but also show various photos and videos at the same time for a certain amount of seconds. I will either cut to a relavent photo or video of myself, while speaking or not, or have that relavent photo or video alongside me while speaking. Where am I getting these photos and videos? I have plenty of photos and videos of my life already saved on my desktop PC at my house. Containing a whopping 3.3TB of storage, it is essentially able to store my entire life and more on it! Of course, my more recent photos and videos are stored on my phone, which I occasionally move some media from there to my computer to free up space on my phone. For the purposes of this project, of course, some media will be copied over to my computer to be able to have the files prese

Hi! My name is Juan Rosero. I am an 11th grade student at Fort Lauderdale High School. I was born in the United States, but I have ethnic backgrounds from Colombia and Ecuador. So far, my 16 years of life have been great! Throughout my life, I have developed so many interests in tons of things ever since I was just a little child. For example, I love technology a lot! I like to play and geek around with information technology systems, Pro A/V systems, and anything of the like. I also like to take on creative challenges to edit videos, design imaginary buildings and products, and so much more. I also like to geek out with trains and fire alarm systems too. School has been starting to get busy, especially since its junior year. Physics has been one of my absolute favorite classes of the year so far. At the same time, I have some great friends scattered around campus. Some are close, some are new, and some I've known for quite some time. I especially love to talk and discuss with my c
