Set Scoping! - Pestilence

Image
Now that Jaydon and I have done all of the necessary planning for the film, it is now time to become familiarized with the set! I would like to first off thank Jaydon for putting in the effort to get permission for us to film at CCFL.  I would also like to thank Mr. Nick over at CCFL for giving us permission to film here in the first place! This project truly would not have been possible without him securing the space for us. Initial Set Scoping Now, we were originally told that we were going to utilize an auditorium primarily used for children's services and the church's private school. It had a beefy audio system, three beefy projectors, some PTZ cameras, and more. It was even large too. This was the first place we looked at, and we looked around to get familiarized with the space. However, after looking around, we were told that due to possible administrative conflicts with our church, this location would not be suitable for us to conduct our filming. However, another altern

Coordination - Pestilence

Image
Before we begin the filming process, we will need to first do some coordination. Technologies To be able to film and edit this movie, we will be using the following hardware and software: iPhone 13 Tripod Adobe Premiere Pro Blackmagic Camera ASUS ROG Strix G16 OBS Studio Figma (amongst several other pieces of set hardware) Recording Tech To record, we will be using the same iPhone 13 from the last project with the same Blackmagic Camera software. Blackmagic Camera is special because it provides additional features and control compared to the stock iOS camera app. The software offers advanced video settings, such as higher frame rates or logarithmic color profiles. Filming with the Blackmagic Camera app results in footage with a more cinematic look. If you would like to learn more about why I use Blackmagic Camera with my work, you can check out the blog by clicking here . Originally, I was planning on securing a DSLR camera to film, specifically a Cannon EOS 90D, from the TV production

She then navigates to her order on her outgoing phone. She then pulls up the QR code.) Zephyra: Here you go! (Jessica scans

Planning Blog: Title Design - Pestilence

from co-creator Jaydon Smith Greetings and Salutations! Welcome to Media TL;DR the series where I break down my greatest projects so you can easily dive in and understand my original ideas. I'm your host Jaydon Smith! And Today's topic is on the Title Design for my final task. Font: We could use Helvetica Standard. Using Helvetica will provide a clean and professional look without overwhelming the audience with too many font styles. Contrast: We will ensure there is a high contrast between the background and the text, and we will use glitchy effects to do so. Size: We will use large titles to really emphasize the glitchy nature of this project. We want the viewers to see the theme immediately so they know what they're getting into. Working Title: Title Entry/Exit: To create a seamless and aesthetically pleasing transition, titles could gradually fade in when introduced and fade out when they exit the screen. This ensures a visually pleasing and non-distracting effect. Durat

Title Research: "Significant Other" - Opening Sequence

Image
One particular title that was eye-catching from Art of the Title was the opening sequence from the film "Significant Other" What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The streaming service and production company titles are displayed at the beginning of the opening sequence. A significant portion of the film is dedicated to select actors, the casting directors, the music director, the costume designer, the editor, the production designer, the photography director, the executive producers, the producer, the writer, and the director. The title is then displayed at the end. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The scenes take most of the priority during the opening sequence. However, some titles become the main focus in some instances of the sequence as some of the text is displayed on a black backdrop. Other foreground titles are arranged in different positions especially to set focus and overall cleanliness in the opening sequence. How does the film

Title Research Blog: A HISTORY OF THE TITLE SEQUENCE - Opening Sequence

from co-creator Jaydon Smith Greetings and Salutations! Welcome to Media TL;DR the series where I break down my greatest projects so you can easily dive in and understand my original ideas. I'm your host Jaydon Smith! And Today's topic is on researching movie title sequences made by other creators. And today's Title is "A History of The Title Sequence" by From Form. Titles Displayed This film showcased all of the names of the creators of the title sequence, which is most definitely a unique take on titles since usually they give the names of the actors and main producers overall in titled form. But in this case, they highlighted the creators of the title and the name of the production company as a whole. Images Prioritized They prioritized modified and oversimplified techy fonts to portray the genre, as well as used pretty relaxing hand tools for creation and the like. The paper itself being influenced is also focused on since most of the text is printed on top of

from co-creator Jaydon Smith Greetings and Salutations Welcome to Media TL;DR the series where I break down my greatest projects so you can easily dive in and understand my original ideas. I'm your host Jaydon Smith! And Today's topic is on researching movie title sequences made by other creators. And today's Title is "Sky Fighers" by Laurent Brett. Titles Displayed The first text we see are the names of the films that made this film, and after some cool transitions, we see the "Un Film Produit" which means "A film produced" by what we can assume are more names. Then they show more corporations. Images Prioritized The title producers prioritized the images of the planes showcased since this film is about planes and helicopters. This title took things further and broke down the inner structure of the plane, showing a high-tech, blueprint-esque presentation. Genre Feeling Breaking down the plane into its deconstructed structure shows machine and

Title Research - Opening Sequence

Image
After reviewing three films, our next step before we begin planning and production will be to review the title sequences of select films! We will review 3 opening sequences that resonate well with our film. To research the titles, we will be utilizing the sites "Art of the Title", and Watch the Titles!". These sites offer a catalog of opening sequences and end credits scenes. Ranging from TV shows, full-length films, and even video games, to live-action and animated productions, these sites have a diverse range of titles in specific types of productions to choose from. Not only do they have a wealth of title sequences to check out, but both sites feature in-depth articles (some are also interviews) that feature the title design directors. The articles explain the inspiration and development of the opening sequences and other aspects of the film. Stills of the opening sequence and other related aspects of the film can be found in the articles. Do keep in mind that the tit
