Title Research Blog: A HISTORY OF THE TITLE SEQUENCE - Opening Sequence
from co-creator Jaydon Smith
Greetings and Salutations!
Welcome to Media TL;DR the series where I break down my greatest projects so you can easily dive in and understand my original ideas. I'm your host Jaydon Smith! And Today's topic is on researching movie title sequences made by other creators. And today's Title is "A History of The Title Sequence" by From Form.
Titles Displayed
This film showcased all of the names of the creators of the title sequence, which is most definitely a unique take on titles since usually they give the names of the actors and main producers overall in titled form. But in this case, they highlighted the creators of the title and the name of the production company as a whole.
Images Prioritized
They prioritized modified and oversimplified techy fonts to portray the genre, as well as used pretty relaxing hand tools for creation and the like. The paper itself being influenced is also focused on since most of the text is printed on top of it. Which relates to another prioritized image, the items used to make the text. The objects like chalk and protractors are prioritized and give the titles a place to lay and be presented.
Genre Feeling
Seeing the text font gave me tech feels, and the features and charts gave technology vibes as well. While the texture is like board chalk, the implication and movements of the text feel like a scientific opening. The slicing of text presented in the film feels like a glitchy influence, which fits the theme of sci-fi.
Thats all!
That's it for this Title Blog everyone. I hope I made at least most of my descriptions and intentions clear. Thank you for reading! And until next time, stay cool and attractive.
