MV Planning Blog - What I'm doing with Ballads

After selecting the song, it is now time to create a story for the video that will complement it! Before getting into the draft synopsis, here is some of the basic information about this production:

    • Apple iPhone 13 (running Blackmagic Camera)
Note that this information is subject to change at any time. Changes will be noted in future production blogs. Costumes and a schedule are currently TBD and will also be noted in a future production blog. All of the final basic information of the production will be organized in the last production blog.
For actors, I am going to have my 3-year-old sister take the role of the main character. I am also seeking to involve some friends of mine as actors.

Draft Storyline Synopsis

A toddler-sized fairy, age 3, is found in a flowerless park and is rejuvenating it with flowers. One day, she is seen planting flowers in the park, and a person spots her far away and takes a picture of her to share it on a social media platform. Some people see legitimacy in the sighting, others are in great suspicion of the sighting.
The persons who saw legitimacy in the sighting are then interested in going to the very park that is being rejuvenated by the fairy. They go to the park only to not find her there, and they are then confused as to why the fairy is nonexistent in the park. Some of the people are confused, others are so enraged that end up commenting that it was a fake sighting. Suddenly, the fairy comes out of nowhere, confirming her existence at the park. Everyone is stunned, and the group starts taking more photos of the fairy, they eventually spread the word about the rejuvenation of the park.

Note that the storyline presented here can differ from what will be reflected on the storyboard. Those changes will be made note of, on the storyline blog.

At this point, the storyboard can now be produced to develop the scenes of the music video.

Title Research - Opening Sequence

After reviewing three films, our next step before we begin planning and production will be to review the title sequences of select films! We will review 3 opening sequences that resonate well with our film. To research the titles, we will be utilizing the sites "Art of the Title", and Watch the Titles!". These sites offer a catalog of opening sequences and end credits scenes. Ranging from TV shows, full-length films, and even video games, to live-action and animated productions, these sites have a diverse range of titles in specific types of productions to choose from. Not only do they have a wealth of title sequences to check out, but both sites feature in-depth articles (some are also interviews) that feature the title design directors.
